• During the "Reputation" album release party Taylor Swift said: "'Look What You Made Me Do' started with just a poem that I wrote about my feelings, and it's about realizing that you couldn't trust certain people, but realizing you appreciate the people you can trust."
• The melody of the chorus "Look What You Made Me Do" is based on the chorus from Right Said Fred's 1991 song "I'm Too Sexy". Right Said Fred wrote on his Twitter about this: "Thank you Taylor Swift what a marvelous reinvention! #imtoosexy"
• In autumn 2017, "Look What You Made Me Do" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the top for three uninterrupted weeks.
